What tooth whitening procedures are there?

For a radiant smile, we offer both professional cosmetic and medical tooth whitening. In both procedures, the teeth are whitened for a radiant smile. For this, the bleaching material is applied to the teeth in the practice under the supervision of specialist staff and activated with a bleaching lamp. This procedure allows us to guarantee the quality of the bleaching.

Tooth whitening Bleaching internal dentist Bochum

What is internal bleaching

Similar to external tooth bleaching, teeth are whitened with internal bleaching. Teeth that have been darkened by old root fillings are opened up from behind and the bleaching material is applied to the inside of the tooth from behind. In this way, the tooth is whitened from the inside. The procedure is completely painless.

Why do I need internal bleaching?

The discoloration of root canal-treated teeth comes either from dead (necrotized) nerve remnants or often just from the material inserted (sealer for the root filling). Such teeth must be bleached from the inside, as the colorants come from inside the tooth.

What does internal bleaching cost?

This depends very much on the effort involved. Prices vary from usually €100 to sometimes up to €300 for highly complex situations. You are also welcome to use our installment payment option. We will be happy to advise you.

Does health insurance pay for internal bleaching?

As internal bleaching is a cosmetic service, it is not covered by health insurance. You are welcome to use our installment payment option. We will be happy to advise you.

How can I prevent the teeth from darkening again?

As part of internal bleaching, we completely clean the teeth from the inside and apply a covering layer to the root filling material. This slows down and, in most cases, even completely prevents renewed discoloration.
